Severance International Fellowship (SIF) is open to foreign physicians, dentists, nurses, medical technicians, or health administrators who wish to experience clinical care, operative procedures, learn about the Korean healthcare system, or participate in research activities at Severance Hospital(Sinchon) Seoul, Korea. This program builds on the hospital’s long legacy and mission to educate future medical leaders in healthcare and ultimately reducing health inequalities in the global society.

1. All foreign trainees have to be eligible to enter Korea without violating Article 11(Prohibition, etc. of Entry) of the Immigration Act of the Republic of Korea.
   
   
2. All foreign trainees have to be enough fluent in English or Korean to participate in the training. Trainees have to be not only able to do daily conversation, but also have to understand and be able to listen, read, write, and speak about their professional specialty area in English or Korean. Severance Academy might request official proof of the trainee's language proficiency if necessary. Interpretations are NOT available.
   
   
3. All foreign trainees must be registered in Yonsei Institue for Global Health, mainly by applying online on this website. (Email applications are not recommended.)
   
   
4. All foreign trainees have to submit a immunization form that asks for proof of vaccination or antibody test results for specific diseases designated by Severance Hospital. Please download the form here.

The ‘KT Having Dream Center’, which Yonsei University Health System and KT Corporation have been working on since 2012, is a space for the rehabilitation of hearing impaired children.

Small group speech therapy, music class, art class, English class, and parental reading education class are offered every semester for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Also, special programs such as graduation ceremonies & exhibitions, special lectures during vacation, and external activities are being held.

Through this, we help children who are deaf or hard of hearing to experience various elements from different angles, learn rules and cooperation through small group activities, and grow up to become healthier members of society.

In addition, in March 2019, KT opened the 2nd Having Dream Center at Priong-dong Hospital in Cambodia, providing various rehabilitation programs such as art and music therapy, education for parents of children with cochlear implants, and business trip education for children with hearing loss living in remote areas from the hospital. This is how we provide hearing rehabilitation support services for children.

KT domestic and overseas aural rehabilitation support project aims to provide staffs at the Having Dream Center in Cambodia with rich knowledge and experiences about the practical skills of aural rehabilitation for infant, child, and adolescents. The program immerses staffs in all facets of aural rehabilitation. Staffs will have the opportunities to observe or practice in outpatient clinics and the art or music program room.
