Profile

Professor Chu majored in pharmacology and mainly teaches pharmacology, pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology. She initiated the "Unification and Nursing" curriculum to increase students' interest in unification, broaden their understanding of North Koreans, and spread the culture of participation in unification-related activities, while at the same time trying to cultivate the competency needed in the era of the health community on the Korean Peninsula by understanding the gap between North and South Korea's health care system and nursing care. Professor Chu is currently conducting research on North Korean defectors under the theme of "Health promotion behavior," "Developing a tool for measuring complex post-traumatic stress disorders," and "social network." She also recently published a book titled with ‘Current and Future Challenges of Nursing in North Korea’.
