Yonsei University Health System(YUHS) has been carrying out international development projects in medical education with various partner institutes in Vietnam, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan, etc.

The gMED(global Medical Education Development) working group aims to strengthen medical education and empower development through strategic collaborations. gMED carries out various ODA programs related to medical education funded by KOICA, KEXIM bank, and KHIDI. Also, gMED collaborates with private philanthropic and mission donors. With these efforts, gMED will endeavor to fulfill the mission of YUHS and for the sustainable future of the global community.

베트남 호치민의약학대학교의 연구역량 강화를 위한 MEF Fellowship 초청연수 실시


제중원보건개발원에서 베트남 호치민의약학대학교(University of Medicine and Pharmacy at HCMC) 교육연구 역량강화사업의 일환으로 진행중인 Medical Education for the Futrue (이하 MEF) 펠로우십의 환영행사가 지난 2월 16일 실시되었다. MEF 펠로우십은 베트남 의료 인력의 고용, 발전, 훈련, 관리와 보건 재정의 확충을 통한 베트남 의학의 지속 가능한 발전 추구라는 목표 하에 진행 중이다. 연세대학교 알렌관에서 약 30명의 연세의료원 및 연세대학교 의과대학 소속 교수진과 호치민의약학대학교의 연수생들이 모여 2022 MEF 펠로우십의 시작을 기념했다. 본 행사를 통해 연수생과 연수기관인 연세대학교 의료원 간 유대를 강화하고, 연수생과 호스트랩 지도교수 간 공동연구의 효율성을 제고하고자 하였다. 개회사를 맡은 이은직 의과대학 학장은 “교육과 연구 분야에서 지속적인 교류와 발전이 있기를 바란다“며, ”이번 환영행사를 통해 유대를 강화하고 6개월 간의 연수 기간이 유익하고 의미 있기를 바란다“고 밝혔다. 환영행사가 종료된 후 연수생들과 교수진은 약 6개월 간의 연수를 통해 베트남으로 돌아간 이후에도 지속적으로 심도 깊은 연구를 할 수 있기를 바란다는 소회를 나눴다.



MEF Fellowship Program Has Conducted to Strengthen Research Capabilities of University of Medicine and Pharmacy at HCMC (UMP at HCMC)


On February 16, Yonsei Institute for Global Health held the welcome ceremony for the Medical Education for the Future (MEF) Fellowship as part of the education research capacity-building project of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at HCMC. MEF Fellowship is an ongoing project with the goal of pursuing sustainable development of Vietnamese medicine through the employment, development, training, and management of Vietnamese medical personnel and the expansion of health finance. Thirty people consist of Yonsei University Health System and Yonsei University College of Medicine’s professors and fellows of UMP celebrated the start of the 2022 MEF Fellowship. The event was intended to strengthen the bondage between UMP fellows and Yonsei University Health System, the training institution, and to improve the efficiency of joint research between fellows and host lab professors. Eunjig Lee, Dean of Yonsei University College of Medicine, who gave an opening speech, said that Yonsei University Health System is looking forward to consistent interaction and development in the education and research field. After the welcome event, the fellows and faculty shared their hopes that they would continue to conduct in-depth research even after returning to Vietnam through the six-month training program.
