After the first early diagnostic center of uterine cancer in Korea has been established, our center has become the best women's cancer center in fact as well as in name as various patients of women's cancer with high risk and difficulty that can not be treated in other hospitals, while striving for the treatment, research and education of patients. Especially, as we open the center for 15 major cancers that can frequently occur simultaneously together with the construction of new Severance Hospital, our Women's Cancer Center can become further activated. While previous the Medical Examination Center of Women's cancer had concentrated on the examination of women's cancer, the Women's Cancer Center has built the system that can not only examine women's cancer, but also provide various medical services such as diagnosis, treatment, and advanced outpatient operations in the same space. Our center has arranged the recovery room in the Women's Cancer Center for the patients with outpatient surgery and invasive examination for their welfare; and in the cooperative medical examination room of women's cancer of new concept allows patients of women's cancer to have best medical services within the same space by the cooperation medical examination and treatment of professors from the departments of women's cancer, radiation oncology, oncology, diagnostic pathology and diagnostic radiology. Through this arrangement, our center has solved the inconveniences of migration from the perspective of patients and so, they can have mental stability. As for the patients of high difficulty with recurrence or transfer, all the team members of women's cancer center get involved in the discussion and studies for the causes and try their best for patients of women's cancer to have best medical services. Especially by arranging cancer coordinator for a mediating role within the women's cancer center, we try to narrow the distance between patients and medical staffs through consultation and build trust between them. Even after their discharge from the hospital, our center cares them consistently and systematically through phone calls.
