The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is responsible for treating various diseases related to the mouth, jaws and face; traumatization and reconstruction; and congenital or acquired deformities.
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has played a leading role in the area of oral and maxillofacial surgery through a numerous number of basic and clinical studies up until today since the time of initially performing the oral and maxillofacial surgery in 1921 by Dr. Boots a doctor of oral surgery. Our department has been consistently grown by the faculty members responsible for a wide range of specialized diagnosis and surgical management of benign and malignant tumors of mouth and face, microvascular reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, surgical management of cleft lip and palate, temporomandibular joint disorders, dental implants, maxillofacial infections, trauma, and impacted 3rd molars.
