Medical Mission Center held the YGHLC online workshop on February 10-12. At first, it started as participating in the GEEF 2022, and forty students and faculties joined from four countries: Cambodia, Mongolia, Vietnam, and Korea. Then, Dr. Chin Pak, Director of Medical Mission Center, Yonsei Institute for Global Health, introduced the YGHLC program with three keywords: 1) Experience, 2) Friendship, and 3) Serving our neighbors. The workshop consisted of two special lectures with small group discussions, cultural exchange, fellowship, etc

Dr. Youngah Choi shared about "The Diseases and the Lives of the Poor." She devoted her life to serving the poor and homeless people without proper compensation. She has worked at a charity hospital for 20 years and has helped the poor and the marginalized for 30 years. Dr. Sichan Kim gave a lecture on "Primary Health Care." He shared his life story and his experiences in Vietnam last 30 years. The YGHLC students presented their projects, "the COVID-19 Pandemic Urgent Relief Project," that they had performed in the previous year. At the last session, all the students and faculties shared their reflections. Despite the online workshop, students could actively share their thoughts through small group gatherings and had an opportunity to introduce their cultures using the movies prepared by themselves. Some wore their traditional clothes at the last session.

YGHLC began in 2014 and was funded by both United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia and YUHS. The purpose of YGHLC is to build the next generation of health leaders responsible for medically underserved communities, stimulate an exchange of ideas, and establish a cooperation network through innovative workshops, one-to-one mentorship, and direct experience.
