2) Where is your working place back in your country and what is your specialty?

Working Place: Mubarak Alkabeer Hospital – Kuwait Ministry of Health

Specialty: Urology


3) How did you get to know Severance? Why did you choose Severance as your training hospital?

Severance Hospital is a well-known hospital in worldwide caliber, with its famous slogan “ The First &  The Best”, and the Urology Department in Severance Hospital is well recognized globally for their academic, clinical and surgical achievements. 

I choose Severance Hospital for my training, as it is a well-recognized training center affiliated with many global organizations, such as Endourology Society(a well-known worldwide society for Endourology & Minimally invasive surgery, https://www.endourology.org/fellowships/clinical/details/yonsei-university-college-of-medicine-department-of-urology ).


4) How long do you stay in Korea?

My fellowship program is a  2-year training.


5) Which area did you focus on during your fellowship at Severance?
Endourology, Minimally Invasive Surgery & Robotic Urological Surgery.


6) What was most impressive at Severance Hospital?

Severance Hospital is not just an ordinary hospital; it reflects the Korean healthcare history, and more importantly, it reflects the inspiring nature of Korean people in challenging themselves to be better day by day with the goal to be the best! And only the best! You can see that every day in Severance Hospital, which is so impressive and inspiring.  


7) What are the specific contents of your fellowship at Severance?

My fellowship program is 1 year of intensive-extensive urological robotic surgery and 1 year of state of the art of endourological surgeries.


8) What value or features of Severance would you bring back or introduce to your own working place?

There are many things in my mind, but the most important is the smoothness & adaptivity of Yonsei healthcare service with the growing demands and challenges and the amazing thorough EMR system features & abilities.


9) If you could come back to Severance, which area would you like to study more?

I will be interested to study and train in Hospital management, as it is amazingly seen in Severance Hospital and all across Yonsei University Healthcare System, which is unique and a brand by itself.


10) Who are you most thankful to at Severance and why?

I’ve been honorably helped & supported by many people, which I’m so thankful for them all, with my special thanks to the International Office in Severance Academy (especially Ms. SooBin Park), Prof. Koon Ho Rha, Prof. Joo Young Lee and all the nurses in the urology wards and operation theatre.


11) What was your first impression of Korea?

South Korea is a country-model to study and learn from it, and all that because of the inspiring nature of Korean people with persistent hardworking attitudes.


12) What was the best memory during your stay in Korea?

I have many nice memories, the best part of it is knowing many nice Korean people, which proudly I can call a friend, with my special thanks to my friend and the best OR-nurse Mr. Choi, who guided me all through my fellowship.
